5.1 Accessing Settings

Settings can be accessed by selecting the cog from the upper right-hand corner once logged into the Vivi app.

Within the Settings menu, on the left hand side, you will see:

  • The name and email address of the person currently logged in,
  • The name of the organisation you are currently connected to,
  • A Log Out button which can be used to log out of the Vivi app,
  • The ability to switch between the different settings sub-menus (refer to sections 5.2, 5.3 and 5.4 for further information), and
  • An information button that will take you into options to access the End User Licence Agreement and to send logs (should only be used at the instruction of the Vivi Support Team.
  • The current version of the Vivi app.

5.2 Video Settings

Please note: some items within the Settings sub-menus may appear different or may not be present depending on if features are turned on or off within your organisation, or depending on the device you are using Vivi on.

The first sub-menu within Settings is Video Settings.

The settings you can modify are:

  • Streaming Method - choose the method of streaming. This will differ depending on the device you are using.
  • Resolution - adjust the resolution quality of the classroom display.
  • Frame Rate - adjust the frame rate quality of the classroom display.
  • Quality - adjust the streaming quality of content being shown on the classroom display.
  • Hardware Acceleration - enable or disable hardware acceleration.

 

5.3 Room Settings

Please note: some items within the Settings sub-menus may appear different or may not be present depending on if features are turned on or off within your organisation, or depending on the device you are using Vivi on.

The second sub-menu within Settings is Room Settings.

From the Room Settings sub-menu, the following features can be enabled/disabled:

  • Room Code - Creates a 4-digit room code that is displayed on the classroom display. The room code needs to be entered by all users before connecting the the room.
  • Open Access - Give students the ability to share without a teacher needing to give them permission first. Room codes need to be switched on in the room for this to be enabled.
  • Pause Signage - Turns off any signage currently playing on the classroom display. It may not turn off some signage if high priorities have been set on that signage by the organisation’s IT administrator.
  • All Display Audio (only available in Multi-Display or Combined Rooms) - Enable audio to play through all the displays within the room.

  • Room Mute - Turns off the sound on all screens within the room.

When turning on a feature, a slider will appear to allow you to select how long that feature will be enabled for. Choose a time, between 30 minutes and 4 hours, and select Apply Settings.

After the set time has elapsed, the feature will be automatically turned off. You can manually turn off a feature at any time by returning to the Room Settings menu and selecting Restore Defaults.

5.4 Preferences

Please note: some items within the Settings sub-menus may appear different or may not be present depending on if features are turned on or off within your organisation, or depending on the device you are using Vivi on.

The third sub-menu within Settings is Preferences.

The preferences you can modify are:

  • Open At Login - Choose if Vivi automatically loads when you log into your device.
  • Enable Nearby Rooms - Choose if Vivi is able to use your device’s Bluetooth to detect rooms that are close to you. You may need to enable permissions on your device for this to work.
  • Enable Auto Mute - By default, when you begin sharing to the classroom display, Vivi will automatically mute your device so that sound is only coming through the classroom display/speakers. Deselect this option to also have sound come from your device.
  • Automatically Switch To Toolbar - Choose if, when you begin sharing to the classroom display, Vivi automatically shrinks into the floating toolbar.
